check out our 10 favorite songs released by kbands, kpop groups and solos this week

#10 – DRIPPIN – Without U

We didn’t skip a single song on DRIPPIN‘s sophomore mini album, but we kept coming back to this track that puts every member’s voice to perfect use in sweetly conveying the mood of budding young love.

#9 – SUPER JUNIOR – Mystery

More than 15 years since their debut and Super Junior still knows how to bring the drama. This spooky track off their long-awaited new album had us hooked from Yesung‘s opening note and left us wanting more with its parting whistle.

Living up to its name, this track from WEEKLY‘s third mini album is a deliciously sweet treat for the ears with its bouncy beat, playful rap verses and breezy chorus.

#7 – Purple Kiss – Ponzona

Beginning with the words “Purple on Top” is totally appropriate for this debut single–haunting and ethereal with an unexpected sharp edge, it establishes Purple Kiss as one to watch for rookie group of the year and big success beyond.

#6 – GIFT – You Are to Me

The blend of acoustic guitar strum, tinkling piano keys and Joohyuk’s angelic vocals make this song from kband GIFT sound the way true love feels–warm, welcoming and uplifting.

#5 – Seori – Lovers in the Night

While her covers racked up the views on YouTube, Seori‘s new single shows she’s even better when she’s singing her own tunes. Her silky voice combines with expert production with results that are every bit as seductive as the lyrics themselves.

#4 – WOODZ – Feel Like

Led by throbbing bass and punctuated by bluesy electric guitar riffs, this single off WOODZ‘s skip-free new album SET masterfully blends his soulful voice with his skilled rap for a sound that’s dark, yet sexy. Like noir you can hear.

#3 – Purple Kiss – Skip Skip

Skip Skip proves Purple Kiss can do it all–gorgeous main vocals, complex harmonies and genuinely skilled rap. When you consider the girls get writing and production credits, too, it seems almost impossible that their fresh off their debut.

#2 – PENTAGON – Baby I Love You

With an old school bend and soft rock DNA, this B-side from PENTAGON‘s new album just goes to show you that sometimes the sweetest love songs aren’t ballads at all. Every now and then, they’re spirited up-tempos that seem perfectly suited to the season; this bright track is perfect for shaking off the winter cold.

#1 – Afgan & Jackson Wang – M.I.A.

The song’s in English, and the main artist is Indonesia, but there was no way we were leaving this collaboration from Jackson Wang and Afgan off of this week’s list. Its sexy vibe and chill mood had it perpetually on our repeat.

There you have it, our top 10 songs of the week. You can check them all out on our Spotify playlist. Give it a listen and then drop a comment, telling us what your favorite song of the week was.
