check out our 10 favorite songs released by kpop groups and solos this week
It’s pretty rare for an OST to be a bop, but this one from Seunghee, Seungyeon and Yeeun of CLC more than earns the title. Putting the girls’ vocals and rap to a club-worthy techno backdrop results in a track that had us grooving all week.
BDC‘s junior mini album is completely free of skips, but we particularly loved the title track with its mysterious bridge and highly melodic, bold chorus. If you’re a fan of AB6IX, we guarantee you’ll love their sound.
With On the Ground, Rosé shows that she can break out of BLACKPINK‘s usual sound with ease. She delivers expressive lyrics with her one-of-a-kind voice, and the low-fi effects of the production elevate her solo debut to a truly impressive track.
Singer BB and rapper Geuneul team up for this R&B track with repeat-worthy results. Korean language aside, this song has western radio-ready spirit.
Kband HOA‘s new album is perfection, but we’re partial to this dreamy guitar-driven track (and to its adorable music video).
The scratchy soulful voice of Earth Kim (previously known as Sunggu of HIGH4) shines in this newly released song, and we’re completely in love with the percussion.
This track from indie artist Soo-Yeony is the perfect track to pick when you want to put in your earbuds and escape from a crazy world–so soft and mellow thanks to her gorgeous voice and the expert production.
DPR IAN‘s new album is brilliant from start to finish, and Nerves in particular proves how sadly underrated the Korean-Australian solo artist is. Through his expressive vocals and guitar-driven music, it perfectly captures the feeling of being completely not OK but trying very hard to convince everyone (including yourself) that you are.
VINXEN delivers chill-hop that soars in the melody and touches down to ground with his skillful verses. Some artists might have made the choice to have a featured on this song, but I’m glad he decided to go it alone. Both his singing and his rap make this track flawless.
Indie artist yey‘s delicate voice gives this song a haunting quality. It stays with you long after the 2 minutes and 42 seconds come to an end with that soft hum. And her music is self written, arranged and produced on her own independent label which is very, very cool.
There you have it, our top 10 songs of the week. You can check them all out on our Spotify playlist. Give it a listen and then drop a comment, telling us what your favorite song of the week was.
